Hippo Manager recommends three reports for your end-of-day reconciliation: Balance Sheet, Detailed Sales, and Detailed Payments. These reports can be used to balance out the cash drawer and keep accurate financials. They can be run at the end of the day, but they can also be run at other dates and times.
How to use the Balance Sheet:
- Go to the Reports tab.
- Click on Detailed Reports.
- Click on Balance Sheet.
- Input the desired start date, end date, and location. If running for one day, the start date and end date will be the same.
Here you can review the Processed Sales section, which includes lines for open invoices, completed invoices, and a total of both, as well as the Payments section, which includes lines for every payment type and a total. If additional information is needed, there is a Detailed Sales report and a Detailed Payments report.
How to use the Detailed Sales report:
- Go to the Reports tab.
- Click on Detailed Reports.
- Click on Sales.
- Select the date range, sale type (sale or return), and the location(s) you would like to see information for.
- You can toggle between completed invoices and open invoices using the Detailed Sales Report and Detailed Report - Open Invoice Sales selections in the top left corner. Sale information can be expanded for more information by clicking the plus signs in the left column of the report. Additionally, both parts of the report can be printed and/or exported to Excel for more manipulation.
How to use the Detailed Payments report:
- Go to the Reports tab.
- Click on Detailed Reports.
- Click on Detailed Payments.
- Input the desired start and end dates. If running for one day, the start date and end date will be the same.
- The report displays all payments in each of their subcategories with subtotals. Each location’s information will be listed separately, with a grand total of all locations at the end.
