With Hippo Manager’s Self Service Suite, you have the ability to:
- Add new species, breeds, colors, markings, and genders of patients to your platform
- Customize vital statistics conditions
- Upload forms that your practice uses to your platform
- Reset negative inventory quantities
To ensure that your practice is secure, only Super Users have access to the suite; check out this article if you need help with user access levels.
How to access the Self Service Suite:
- Go to the Administration tab.
- Click on Customize Data.
How to add Species options:
- Navigate to the Self Service Suite.
- Click on the Species widget.
- Click the plus sign in the top right corner.
- Type in the Species Name you would like to appear in your platform.
- Click Ok.
How to add Breed, Color, Marking, and Gender options:
- Navigate to the Self Service Suite.
- Click on the Breeds widget, Colors widget, Markings widget, or Gender widget (the process is the same for each).
- Click the plus sign in the top right corner.
- Select a species from the Species drop down menu that you would like to add a new breed, color, marking, or gender to.
- Type in the new breed, color, marking, or gender option.
- Click Ok.
How to customize Vital Statistics Conditions:
- Navigate to the Self Service Suite.
- Click on the Vital Statistics icon.
- Choose either the Mucous Membrane (MM) Options widget or the Hydration Status (HS) Options widget (the process is the same for both).
- Click the plus sign in the top right corner.
- Type in the new MM or HS option you would like to appear in the drop down on your chart notes.
- Type in the abbreviation that will appear on the printed version of your notes.
- Click Ok.
Helpful Hint:
If you navigate to any of the widgets described above, you can also edit or delete entries that you do not need, not just add new ones. To edit any options, navigate to the appropriate widget, click on the appropriate option, and click the pencil icon in the bottom right corner. To delete instead, click the trash can icon, also in the bottom right corner.
How to Reset Negative Inventory:
Hippo Manager allows you to “start over” if inventory tracking has become messy! You can reset all negative inventory quantities to zero and restart, adding your current quantity on hand. Deleting negative quantities will delete ALL receiving history for the item. Only use this option if you truly need to start over!
- Navigate to the Self Service Suite.
- Click on the Reset Negative Inventory to Zero widget.
- A warning will appear, prompting you to confirm you want to go through with the action by typing CONFIRM.
- Click Ok.
How to create custom forms:
Hippo Manager allows users to upload any form your practice uses and customize it so that it will be pre-populated with patient and owner information when you need it.
- Navigate to the Self Service Suite.
- Click on the Custom Forms widget.
- Click the plus sign in the top right corner.
- Name the form in the Form Name field.
- Click +Add PDF.
- Select the form to upload from your files. It is important that the fields in the form are blank, so that they are ready to be customized.
- The form designer will appear. Available fields are found on the right side of the designer, and you can use the Previous and Next buttons in the top left to navigate through multi-page forms.
- Drag and drop a field from the Available Fields column to where you would like it to appear on the form. When you go to print the form in the future, this field will be auto-generated from various places in Hippo Manager, but mainly Patient Info and Client Information. If the information is not available for the patient you are printing the form for, the corresponding field will be left blank.
- After placing the Available Field on the form, you can click the settings gear next to it to alter the size of the font and/or bold, underline, and italicize.
- Repeat steps 8 and 9 for as many fields as you would like.
- Click Save Form.
How to use custom forms:
- Go to the Patient tab or the Choose Action screen.
- Find the Custom Forms widget or click on the Custom Forms quick link. Don’t see either? Check out this article on editing the Patient tab, or this article on editing the Choose Action screen.
- Click on the name of the form you wish to generate and Hippo Manager will open a PDF form with all the fields you added to the form pre-populated.
- At this point, you can print the form, get it signed if necessary, then add a photocopy or picture back to Hippo Manager in the Documents widget.
