This article provides a breakdown of the vaccination certificate in Hippo Manager. The information documented in each section of the certificate auto-populates from various sources in the patient record and the inventory database.
1.) Owner Information
The owner's information will populate on the certificate based on what is documented in the Client Info icon located on the Choose Action page. For more information about updating the owner's information, check out Patient Dashboard: Modifying Client & Patient Information .
2.) Animal Information
The patient's information will populate on the certificate based on what is documented in the Patient Info widget or quicklink located on the Patient Dashboard page. For more information about updating the patient's information, check out Patient Dashboard: Modifying Client & Patient Information.
- Important Note: The patient's weight will populate on the certificate based on what is documented in the Patient Reserve at the time of invoicing. In order for the patient's weight to update in the Patient Reserve, it will need to be captured through a chart note. For more information about

3.) Vaccination Information
Vaccine
- Once a vaccine has been invoiced, the name will appear in this field on the associated certificate. For more information about invoicing vaccines refer to Checkout: Invoicing Vaccines (Including Rabies) If you need to modify a vaccine item code check out Administration: Creating and Editing Inventory Codes.
Manufacturer
- The vaccine manufacturer will populate on the certificate based on what is recorded for that Item code in Items and Services. The manufacturer can be updated by first selecting the Items and Services icon from the Administration page. Lot Number / Expiration Date
- The lot number and expiration date for a vaccine will populate on the certificate based on what was recorded for the active lot during Receiving. This information can be updated by logging a receiving entry using the Receiving icon from the Management page. - Alternative Workflow: Since this information automatically pulls from inventory receiving- if you are not using this feature in Hippo Manager, or you need to edit this information, you can manually enter the lot number and expiration date to appear on the vaccine certificate. Date Administered
- When the vaccine is invoiced, the administered date is assigned. For more information about logging a vaccine entry in the patient's record, check out Checkout: Creating and Using a Rabies Vaccine Item Code or Choose Action: Recording a Vaccine Administered at Your Practice.
Next Due
- After a vaccine is invoiced, the Next Due field will automatically populate based on the reminder duration that's assigned in the inventory code setup. For more information about assigning a reminder duration to the inventory code, check out Administration: Creating and Editing Inventory Codes.
- Important Note: If this field appears empty, and you are using a vaccine that's related to other reminders in the form of an item kit, refer to Administration: Linking Multiple Reminders to an Item Code (Stocking Item) to ensure that the reminders are set up appropriately.
Tag Number
- A Rabies tag number can be added to the certificate after it's been invoiced. For more information, check out Checkout: Creating and Using a Rabies Vaccine Item Code or Choose Action: Recording a Vaccine Administered at Your Practice.
4.) Practice Information
Logo
- Your practice logo will automatically appear on the vaccine certificate after it's been uploaded through the Config icon on the Administration page. For more information about inserting a practice logo, check out Administration: Uploading an Organization or Practice / Location Logo.
Veterinarian Name & License Number
- After the veterinarian is assigned to the vaccine entry, their name will appear on the certificate automatically. For more information about assigning a provider in the vaccine entry, refer to Checkout: Creating and Using a Rabies Vaccine Item Code. Practice Name & Address
- Your practice's information will automatically appear on the vaccine certificate after it's been entered into the Config icon on the Administration page. For more information about inserting a practice logo, check out Administration: Customizing Practice Information.
5.) Veterinarian Signature
- Your veterinarian's signature will automatically appear on the vaccine certificate after it's been uploaded to your Hippo Manager platform. For more information, check out Choose Action: Printing and Emailing Vaccination Certificates.
6.) Reminders
- Patient reminders will automatically display at the bottom of the vaccination certificate and can be altered through the Reminders icon on the Choose Action or Patient Reserve. For more information, check out Choose Action: Patient Reserve Breakdown and Choose Action: Removing Patient Reminders.
