Checkout: Using an Existing Account Credit or Gift Card to Pay An Invoice

Using an Account Credit at Checkout

1. Once you've located the patient's invoice through the Checkout tab, and you're ready to process a payment, select Account Credit from the Payment Type dropdown.

2. Within the slideout, select the active Account Credit you wish to use and then select Add Payment to apply the credit as payment.

3. If the invoice balance exceeds the credit amount, select another form of payment using the Payment Type dropdown, and follow the steps on the screen to process the second payment.  Once the balance is $0.00, select Complete Invoice to generate a receipt.

Using a Gift Card at Checkout

1. Pro Tip: Before you access the Invoice through the Checkout screen, select the Management tab, and then select the Gift Cards and Credits widget. Using the filters at the top of the screen, locate the owner's gift card within the list, and copy the code found within the Number column.

2. Locate the patient's invoice through the Checkout tab, and when you're ready to process a payment, select Gift Card from the Payment Type dropdown.

3. Within the slideout, type the Gift Card number that you copied in step 1 into the  Gift Card field and then select Find Gift Card.

4. From the list of available Gift Cards, select the appropriate option. Then select Add Payment to apply the Gift Card as payment.

5. If the invoice balance exceeds the gift card amount, select another form of payment using the Payment Type dropdown, and follow the steps on the screen to process the second payment.  Once the balance is $0.00, select Complete Invoice to generate a receipt.

Helpful Hint:

Account Credits change the balance in the patient reserve and are assigned to specific clients. 

Gift cards do not change the balance and do not have to be assigned to specific clients.
